The Harriet Tubman
The Harriet Tubman
We celebrate The Harriet Tubman our one and ONLY leader of the Underground Railroad
Born Araminta Ross, Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and social reformer who died on March 10, 1913. Born into slavery, Tubman fled and went on around 13 missions to free over 70 slaves, including relatives and friends, by utilizing the Underground Railroad, a network of abolitionists and safe homes. She worked as an armed scout and spy for the Union Army during the American Civil War. Later in life, Tubman became active in the fight for women's suffrage.
